Get picked up from your accommodation and start your Évora private tour. Why not start at the very heart of the city – Praça do Giraldo (Giraldo Square).

The historical figure of Giraldo “The Fearless” conquered this ancient town from the Moors in 1166 and during the Middle Ages, Évora became one of the most important cities of the Portuguese Kingdom, especially during the Avis dynasty (1385-1580).

Next, we visit Temple of Diana. This Roman temple in Évora is one of the grandest and best-preserved Roman temples in the entire Iberian Peninsula, having been considered a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1986

Continuing your Évora Full-day private tour, you will visit Capela dos Ossos (Chapel of the Bones). This unique and sinister Chapel was built in the 17th century on the initiative of three Franciscan friars whose goal was to convey the message of transience and the fragility of human life.

Thousands of skulls and bones were used to decorate the walls and columns of this chapel and are worth a sight if you’re visiting Évora – provided you don’t fear the dead, of course!

After lunch, you can visit the Cathedral of Évora – founded in 1186. A fortified church with Gothic features, dedicated to Santa Maria, this is the largest medieval cathedral in the country. You can also visit the gothic cloister, dated 1325 and climb to the terrace, from where you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view over the entire city of Évora, since the Cathedral is located at its highest point.
Returning to Lisbon, your driver will drop you off at your accommodation and this will complete your Évora full-day private tour.

Punctuality, well planned, friendliness, well adjusted for our needs and expectations of the places visited, excellent vehicles, great restaurant suggestions were important factors that made us enjoy the whole experience. Our tour guide, Carlos, was knowledgeable in almost every aspect of Portugal history as well as the country's folklore. He tried to please everyone in our group making a perfect balance in the activities we performed. We have traveled in Europe, Australia, Africa, South and Central America as well as United States. Ricardo was more than accommodating! His help and service was 5 star. He coordinated so many things for us, was there to make sure we made our activities. We had 3 drivers that were personable, safe and kind. Jakim (totally did not spell this correctly) was my favorite although the other two drivers were safe and informative on our drives from city to city. I can’t say enough about Ricardo’s service. He was always available to text or call for any questions or suggestions. I would totally reserve his services again when in Portugal!

Who would’ve thought that a car trip from Porto to Lisbon would be one of the highlights of our family trip to Portugal?! I arranged our itinerary with Ricardo who was extremely responsive and helpful. Our tour guide and driver, Carlos, picked us up at our hotel in Porto in an immaculately clean Mercedes van and drove us to Lisbon with stops at Coimbra, Nazare and Obidos along the way. Carlos is very knowledgeable about Portugal and gave us a great overview of the country’s history and geography. He also provided us with helpful information about each city we visited. Ricardo arranged a lunch for us at a wonderful restaurant with a beautiful view of the ocean in Nazare. What an amazing way to travel between the two cities! I can’t recommend Ricardo and Carlos more highly!
